Before you swallow the pill that the mainstream media is feeding us about the Dems having a shoe-in this election year, take a look at the electoral map. Obama has a slight lead in delegate counts...but look at a few of the key states that are undecided - Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania are all states taht went for Hillary and won't forget how they got screwed by the Dems.
More importantly, recent polls show that a over twenty percent of Hillary supporters are going to back McCain and another 17 percent are going to stay home. Also, McCain leads Obama by 8 percent among independent voters.

It is interesting that you mention that the "mainstream media" is forcing use to take horse pills, yet 2/3 of your links are to what I have always considered "mainstream media."
This leads me to an idea for a post. The term "liberal media" has been thrown around so much, but to the uninitiated the word is just as nebulous as saying "they" or "there" without proper context.
Who is the liberal media? Make a list. If hairs need to be split, do so. Who is the "enemy" from the blog title? Who are you fighting against?
tj - That is actually a very good point, and I was actually going to mention that exact thing in my last post on anyonebutobama.blogspot.com. I have intentionally tried to find stories on the mainstream media to defend my statements. I fully admit that media outside what I consider the mainstream also tend to be biased, so I don't like to use them as sources. I would rather cite information from sources that I cosider unfriendly to the cause to give it a bit more credibility.
That is a very good idea for a post. A list of mainstream media and examples of their biases. you're right, I bring it up a lot, and I feel very strongly about it.
As far as the "enemy," I'm not sure who you're referring to. This post was jsut about the presidential race and the electoral map...but I have plenty of political enemies if that's what you're referring to...
AnyonebutObama = Clinton is ok?
Here is something I looked at yesterday to get you started on the research:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_bias_in_the_United_States
Yes, I'm sure you can claim that is a poor source due to the liberalness... but whatever.
The "enemy" comment was referring to the top of your blog page. This is an example of polarization in my opinion.
It falls into "othering," the idea that if you are not with me, then you are against me. Othering started Nazi Germany, and so many other conflicts.
Politics, in my opinion, should be about positive expression of views, listening, reasoning, and compromise. [You know I'm an idealistic person] Demonizing has no place anywhere.
I think the "not with me, than against me" rhetoric should be replaced with "If you're not with me, than you don't understand my position, don't know the facts that I know, are overly self interested and the facts will not sway you, or I am missing some of the facts, or I am self overly self interested"
What do you think about that taxonomy?
Thanks for the link. I will read that and see where it leads me.
Is Clinton ok? I would rather Clinton over Obama ANY day. Not even a question. I will admit, however, that I would arther Obama than Dennis Kusinich.
As far as the With us/Against us taxonomy, we all of course know that only a sith deals in absolutes ;) But seriously, I would also love for politics to be a place where we all sit down, collaborate, compramise, and most often come up with win/win solutions to problems.
I think the best replacement would be "if you're not with me, then you have a different worldview, different values, different problem solving strategies, different fact, and/or different interests than I." I am a firm believer that once we understand the other side, we can better come to a solution. I took a really great set of classes in a field called decision analysis. It opened my eyes a lot. You should look it up.
The fact remains, however, that I don't trust the left at all. Let me give you an example - abortion. While I call myself pro-life, I am not adament that abortion ought to be illegal in all 50 states without exception. However, I don't dare give an inch to the pro-choice movement because i do not trust that they want to same ends as I do - to bring the number of abortions down to a minimum and to help families of a mother and a father be the unit for raising children in America. So, if I demand anything less than a Constitutional amendment banning abortion, then I fear that the end will be tons of irresponsible people running around treating sex like candy and having abortions as easy ways out of the committment that ought to be attached to the relationship that creates life.
Does that make sense? It ought not to be a us against you mentality, but I have little faith that the left will even try to accept my values.
